We’ve got our matching tacky Christmas cat shirts on, and we’re ready for a much needed break.
A reminder to my counselor friends about self-care this holiday season:
Take time to care of yourself well.
Even if that means doing nothing for a bit.
Read that book (or list of books) you’ve been meaning to get around to.
Bake some treats. Enjoy them in good company.
Do something physical: go ice skating, go on a walk, play some Just Dance.
Do something fun: play a card game or a board game.
Catch up on those lost seasons of Netflix.
(May I recommend LOST, Friday Night Lights, Freaks and Geeks, The Office, Parks and Rec?)
Treat yo self to a pedicure or massage.
Write a letter. Who doesn’t like snail mail?
Get some sleep. Nap. Nap some more.
Do something kind for someone else.
